WIDESPREAD POWER OUTAGES
There is currently a large Entergy power outage affecting parts of Chalmette, Meraux and Violet, as well as large portions of New Orleans, Jefferson Parish and parts of the Northshore.
Our 9-1-1 center is receiving numerous calls asking if there was a fire at any of the local refineries — there is no fire at any facility.
Please be aware the outage is also affecting traffic signals. Motorists are reminded to treat all intersections with non-working traffic lights as four-way stops and drive with caution.
