Motorists are advised that both eastbound lanes of West St. Bernard Highway in Arabi, near the 8000 block by Associated Terminals, are being fully shut down as crews work to safely handle a derailed train car following an accident involving an 18-wheeler and a Norfolk Southern train.
There are no reported injuries, and no hazardous materials are involved.
Please use caution in the area and seek alternate routes while deputies and other personnel continue working the scene.
