***UPDATE: The Florida Avenue Bridge has resumed normal operation and it is now open to all traffic.

Florida Avenue Bridge Emergency Closure
The Florida Avenue Bridge is currently closed to marine traffic due to an electrical/control system malfunction.
Maintenance personnel are currently working to repair the control system and the bridge will be raised this morning using the emergency motors to restore marine traffic until repairs are complete.
Once the bridge is raised, the roadway will remain closed until the bridge control system is repaired and the bridge will only be lowered for passage of trains.
We apologize for the inconvenience and hope to get the problem resolved by tomorrow.
