SBSO ISSUES ARREST WARRANT FOR MAN WANTED IN CHALMETTE SHOOTING

The St. Bernard Sheriff’s Office has issued an arrest warrant for a man wanted in connection with a shooting that occurred in Chalmette on Monday, May 8, Sheriff James Pohlmann said.

Devin Kelley, 20, of the 3700 block of Gallo Drive in Chalmette, is wanted for negligent injuring, possession of a firearm or carrying concealed weapon by a person convicted of certain felonies, illegal use of weapons or dangerous instrumentalities and aggravated second degree battery.

Shortly after 8 p.m. on Monday, Sheriff Pohlmann said, deputies responded to a call for service in reference to a shooting in the 3600 block of Delille Street in Chalmette.

When deputies arrived on the scene they found an adult male victim suffering from a gunshot wound to the left armpit area. The male victim was transported to an area hospital to be treated for his injuries.
