SBSO INVESTIGATING FATAL SHOOTING IN VIOLET

The St. Bernard Sheriff’s Office is investigating the fatal shooting of an 18-year-old male victim that took place this afternoon outside a residence in Violet, Sheriff James Pohlmann said.

At approximately 2:45 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 23, Sheriff Pohlmann said, deputies responded to a call for service in reference to a shooting in the 2800 block of Moss Lane in Violet.

When deputies arrived on the scene they found a male victim lying in the rear of a driveway suffering from gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

During the course of the investigation, the Sheriff said, detectives with the Criminal Investigations Bureau were able to identify Cody Adams as a suspect in the shooting.

An arrest warrant for principal to second degree murder has been issued for Adams, 21, of the 3100 block of Oak Drive in Violet.

Adams was seen driving away from the scene in a 2023 blue Toyota Camry with temp tag 20263405.

Detectives also are working to identify two additional suspects who were with Adams during the incident.

The investigation is ongoing, the Sheriff said.
