SBSO announces road closure
St. Bernard Sheriff James Pohlmann would like to inform residents of the following road closure associated with the tornado that moved through Arabi Tuesday night.
The Sheriff said St. Claude Avenue is currently fully closed, both eastbound and westbound lanes, at the St. Bernard/Orleans parish line and will be for several hours due Entergy workers repairing utilities in the area.
Residents needing to enter or exit the parish can do so by Judge Perez Drive or Paris Road which are both fully open.
The Sheriff said residents are urged for their own safety to not move or go around barricades, and please be patient as utility workers work hard to restore power to those so greatly affected by the tornado.
An announcement will be made when St. Claude Avenue is reopened at the parish line.
