Troopers Seeking Information Regarding Hit and Run Crash That Killed Motorcyclist in St. Bernard Parish

Violet – On Monday, November 11, 2024, around 3:15 am, Troopers with Louisiana State Police Troop B began investigating a hit-and-run crash involving a motorcyclist on LA 46 (St. Bernard Highway) at Riverbend Drive in St. Bernard Parish. The crash ultimately claimed the life of 26-year-old Kyle St. Angelo of Saint Bernard.

The preliminary investigation revealed that St. Angelo was driving a 2024 Suzuki DRZ 400 motorcycle north on St. Bernard Highway, approaching Riverbend Drive. At the same time, a pickup truck was traveling south on St. Bernard Highway and turned left onto Riverbend Drive, into the path of the Suzuki. As a result, the Suzuki struck the passenger side of the pickup truck.

St. Angelo, who was wearing a DOT-approved helmet, was ejected from the motorcycle and died on the scene. After the crash, the driver of the pickup did not stop or contact law enforcement and fled the scene.

Through investigative resources, Troopers determined the suspect pickup truck is a newer model, light-colored crew cab Ram pickup truck, possibly white. The Ram should have damage to the passenger side, near the front passenger door. As troopers are working to gather all possible information regarding the investigation, anyone with information on this crash is encouraged to contact Troop B at (504) 471-2775.
