TRAFFIC ALERT: POYDRAS

SBSO, along with Acadian Ambulance, the St. Bernard Fire Department, and Louisiana State Police are currently working together at the scene of a head-on collision involving two vehicles in the 8100 block of East St. Bernard Highway, near the junction of Bayou Road and St. Bernard Parkway, just east of Bradley’s Pharmacy in Poydras.

East St. Bernard Highway is shut down in both directions in this area at this time.

Sheriff Pohlmann said this incident highlights the importance of teamwork among our local and state agencies.

Law enforcement, fire personnel, and EMS are working side by side with one shared goal – saving lives and keeping the public safe.

Motorists are urged to avoid the area and use alternate routes while first responders continue their work.

An update will be provided once the roadway is reopened.
