🚧⚠️ TRAFFIC ADVISORY: FLORIDA AVENUE BRIDGE CLOSURE 🚔
According to the Port of New Orleans, the Florida Avenue Bridge is currently closed to vehicular traffic beginning today (April 21) due to repairs to a nearby sewer force main.
The closure is expected to last approximately two weeks, weather and other emergencies permitting.
During this time, traffic will be detoured to France Street/Alvar Street and Jourdan Avenue. Florida Avenue westbound at France Street is also closed to facilitate the repairs.
Alternate routes in and out of St. Bernard include the Claiborne Avenue Judge Seeber Bridge, the St. Claude Avenue Bridge, and LA 47 (Paris Road/I-510).
Signage, barriers and traffic control measures are in place to guide drivers and pedestrians. Buses and emergency vehicles will be allowed to pass as needed.
Motorists should plan alternate routes and expect delays in the area.
