Today, we mourn the loss of retired K-9 Bas, a loyal partner, fearless protector, and cherished member of the Kenner Police Department family.
Bas, a Dutch Shepherd/Malinois, faithfully served alongside Lt. Lewis Tusa from 2016 until his retirement after eight years of dedicated service. During his career, Bas helped remove dangerous narcotics from our streets, apprehended countless offenders, and worked alongside numerous law enforcement agencies to help keep our community safe.
Beyond the badge, Bas was a faithful companion who loved nothing more than relaxing in the sunshine and chasing his favorite toy.
