This past week, in honor of National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week, we celebrated the unsung heroes of our agency — our 9-1-1 dispatchers.
They are the first, first responders: answering calls for help, gathering critical information, and dispatching deputies, firefighters, and EMS to where they’re needed most.
They may not always be seen, but they are always calm, focused and essential to every emergency response in St. Bernard Parish, and their work is critical to Sheriff Pohlmann’s mission of “Keeping St. Bernard Safe.”
