The St. Bernard Sheriff’s Office will have a team participating in tonight’s Rotary Club of St. Bernard Corporate Spelling Bee which starts at 7 p.m. in the Chalmette High School cafeteria, Sheriff James Pohlmann said.
The team, comprised of Dep. Michelle Waites and Dep. Keith St. Germain, of the Corrections Division Juvenile Detention Center, and Chaplain Aaron Johnson, will compete for best speller bragging rights.
The event is open to the public and will feature refreshments, raffles and door prizes. Proceeds are used by the Rotary Club to promote community literacy programs and to provide area third-graders with their own dictionaries.
