The Orleans Parish Sheriff’s Office is heartbroken by the loss of our beloved K-9 Rex, who passed away.
K-9 Rex was more than a working dog he was a loyal partner, a protector, and a valued member of our OPSO family. Throughout his service, Rex demonstrated unwavering dedication, courage, and heart while proudly serving alongside his handler, Detective Collura, and supporting deputies across the department.
The bond between K-9 Rex and Detective Collura exemplified trust, teamwork, and unconditional loyalty. Together, they served our community with honor and professionalism, leaving a lasting impact on those they worked with and the people they protected.
K-9 Rex served with distinction, and his legacy will live on through the lives he touched, the missions he supported, and the deep respect he earned from all who knew him. His paw prints will forever remain on our hearts.
