Well, we gave it our best shot, but the St. Bernard Fire Department brought the heat in today’s friendly tug-of-war competition at the Islenos Fiesta!
Despite our best efforts, their crew pulled off the victory—literally.
While we may have lost the battle of brute strength, we’ll always stand shoulder to shoulder with our firefighters in the fight to protect and serve St. Bernard Parish.
Sheriff James Pohlmann is incredibly proud of the determination shown by our deputies and, more importantly, the strong partnership we share with our firefighters.
At the end of the day, it’s all about teamwork—whether it’s responding to emergencies or coming together for a little friendly competition.
We respect and appreciate everything our firefighters do to keep our community safe, and we’re already looking forward to a rematch next time!
