International Lawperson of the Year, Sheriff James Pohlmann said.Lt. Gutierrez, who received the Kiwanis Club of St. Bernard-Arabi Life Saver Award in January of 2019, was selected from a group of nominees submitted by Kiwanis clubs over a tri-state area.
Each year, the Kiwanis LAMISSTENN District, which includes Louisiana, Mississippi and western Tennessee, asks individual chapters to nominate one of their Life Saver Award recipients to be named the Lawperson of the Year.
