St. Bernard Sheriff’s Office arrests seven on narcotics charges

The St. Bernard Sheriff’s Office arrested several individuals on various narcotics charges following an investigation conducted by the Special Investigations Division Narcotics Unit, Sheriff James Pohlmann said. A firearm and cash also were recovered.

Bernell Aisola, 31, of the 3600 block of Golden Drive in Chalmette, was booked with possession with the intent to distribute heroin, possession with the intent to distribute fentanyl, possession of a controlled dangerous substance in presence of a juvenile, possession of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Lakura Major, 20, 3600 block of Golden Drive in Chalmette, was booked with possession with the intent to distribute heroin, possession with the intent to distribute fentanyl, possession of a controlled dangerous substance in presence of a juvenile, possession of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Markall Swearington, 20, of the 7500 block of Briarheath Drive in New Orleans, was booked with possession with the intent to distribute heroin, possession with the intent to distribute fentanyl, possession of a controlled dangerous substance in presence of a juvenile, possession of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Izeah White, 24, of the 60 block of Patterson Drive in Chalmette, was booked with possession with the intent to distribute heroin, possession with the intent to distribute fentanyl, possession of a controlled dangerous substance in presence of a juvenile, possession of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia. White also was booked on outstanding warrants out of New Orleans for attempted armed robbery.

Jobey Bienemy, 40, of the 3600 block of Golden Drive in Chalmette, was booked with: possession with the intent to distribute marijuana, possession with the intent to distribute cocaine, possession of a controlled dangerous substance in the presence of a juvenile (3 counts), possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of a firearm by a convicted person.

Crystal Lewis, 41, of the 6500 block of 4th Street in Violet, were booked with: possession with the intent to distribute marijuana, possession with the intent to distribute cocaine, possession of a controlled dangerous substance in the presence of a juvenile (3 counts), possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of a firearm by a convicted person. Lewis also was booked on seven bench warrants out of St. Bernard Parish.

Donald Rabalais, 40, of the 100 block of West Casa Calvo Street in Chalmette, was booked with possession of marijuana.

After obtaining information that Aisola was involved in illegal drug activity in St. Bernard, Narcotics Unit agents opened an investigation. Based on their findings, agents conducted a series of search warrants on Monday, Feb. 8 on Golden Drive in Chalmette, Sheriff Pohlmann said.

During the execution of one search warrant, agents discovered approximately 23 grams of a heroin/fentanyl mixture with an estimated street value of $2,300, along with packaging material, digital scales and a small amount of marijuana.

During the execution of a second search warrant, agents recovered approximately 220 grams of high grade marijuana which was packaged for street level sales, along with approximately 15 grams of cocaine with an estimated street value of $1,500. Agents also recovered packaging material, digital scales, a semi-automatic firearm and $2,217 in cash.

A criminal history check was conducted on all individuals involved in the case, which revealed at the time of his arrest, Aisola was out on bond from an arrest in October of 2020 in St. Bernard for the distribution of heroin.
