Division, a SWAT equipment demonstration, and a visit from Agent Brian Brown with Louisiana Attorney General Jeff Landry’s Bureau of Investigation.Citizens Police Academy participants were shown some of the state-of-the-art equipment used by St. Bernard Sheriff’s Office deputies and Agent Brown spoke about the types of cyber crimes investigated by his office.
Coordinated by Capt. Charles Borchers, Sgt. Eric Eilers and Dep. Aaron Johnson, the free, 10-week course, which began Aug. 21, teaches residents about the various aspects of law enforcement and what the men and women of the Sheriff’s Office do on a day-to-day basis to keep their community safe.
The class will wrap up Oct 23 with a graduation ceremony.
