St. Bernard Parish experiencing street flooding
St. Bernard Sheriff’s Office deputies have several streets, including parts of Judge Perez Drive and St. Bernard Highway coming into the parish, closed due to standing water from the recent heavy rains.
There are also several neighborhoods across the parish experiencing flooding.
Residents are reminded to slow down for safety, as well as avoid any high wakes that may impact neighboring homes.
St. Bernard Sheriff James Pohlmann reminds residents that a parish ordinance makes it illegal for vehicles to push water into homes and businesses.
Anyone who speeds down a flooded street endangering the property of others can be fined up to $500.00
