SHERIFF POHLMANN CELEBRATES 14 YEARS AS SHERIFF TODAY
Today marks the 14th anniversary of Sheriff James Pohlmann taking office as Sheriff of St. Bernard Parish.
Sheriff Pohlmann was first elected in November 2011 and officially took office on July 1, 2012. Since then, he has been re-elected without opposition in 2015, 2019 and 2023, and began serving his fourth term on July 1, 2024.
A veteran law enforcement officer with more than four decades of service, Sheriff Pohlmann has remained committed throughout his tenure to enhancing public safety, supporting the men and women of the St. Bernard Parish Sheriff’s Office, and strengthening partnerships throughout our community.
