SCHOOL CARNIVAL PARADES
St. Bernard Sheriff’s Office deputies are helping Our Lady of Prompt Succor School students have a safe and fun Carnival parade today by escorting marching students and providing traffic control around the school grounds in Chalmette.
On Friday, (Feb. 9) deputies will be present at Carnival parades held by the following area schools: Bright Beginnings Day Care and St. Bernard Christian Academy (9 a.m.), Arabi Elementary (10 a.m.), Meraux Elementary (10 a.m.), Joseph Davies Elementary and Willie Smith Elementary (11:30 a.m.), Chalmette Elementary (12 p.m.), Lacoste Elementary (12:30 p.m.), and J.F. Gauthier Elementary (1 p.m.).
Sheriff Pohlmann asks motorists to use extra caution around these schools during these times so everyone can have a safe and fun day.
