SBSO’S K-9 PIT HELPS UNCOVER NARCOTICS FOLLOWING TRAFFIC STOP

The St. Bernard Sheriff’s Office arrested a Chalmette man on numerous charges after K-9 Pit alerted agents to the presence of narcotics during a traffic stop, Sheriff James Pohlmann said.

Lee Everidge, 47, of the 400 block of East Liberaux Street in Chalmette, was booked with:

🔹windshield obscuring view
🔹possession with the intent to distribute marijuana
🔹possession with the intent to distribute Ecstasy
🔹possession with the intent to distribute fentanyl
🔹possession with the intent to distribute crack cocaine
🔹possession with the intent to distribute cocaine
🔹possession of Adderall
🔹possession of drug paraphernalia
🔹possession of a firearm by a convicted felon
🔹illegal possession of a weapon while in possession of a controlled dangerous substance
🔹possession of a firearm with an obliterated serial number
🔹contributing to the delinquency of a juvenile

On Thursday, Aug. 13, 2026, shortly after 2 p.m., Special Investigations Division agents conducting proactive patrols in Chalmette stopped a vehicle with a fully tinted front windshield and identified the driver as Everidge.

During the investigation, agents deployed K-9 Pit, the Sheriff’s Office’s certified narcotics detection K-9, who gave a positive alert for the odor of narcotics inside the vehicle.

The alert led to further investigation and search warrants for Everidge’s vehicle and residence, where agents recovered the above-listed narcotics as well as:

🔹an FN Herstal Belgium MK2P 5.7×28 with an obliterated serial number
🔹a Glock 17 9mm
🔹a Springfield XD Elite 9mm
🔹3 high-capacity magazines and one weapon light
🔹ammunition and firearm accessories

Everidge was taken into custody and transported to the St. Bernard Parish Correctional Facility to be booked on the above charges. He is being held on a $393,600 bond.
