SBSO VISITS WITH STARBASE STUDENTS
St. Bernard Sheriff’s Office Lt. Eric Eilers, director of Community Relations, and Dep. Aaron Johnson, who also serves as chaplain, spent time today (Jan. 17) with Meraux Elementary School fifth grade students at Starbase, a Department of Defense program based at Jackson Barracks aimed at improving math and science skills of young students.
Lt. Eilers and Dep. Johnson spoke to the students about some of the special equipment used by deputies and they brought along the Special Weapons and Tactics or S.W.A.T. truck and a patrol unit.
