SBSO TO PROVIDE DEPUTIES ALONG THE PARADE ROUTE, LIVE SOCIAL MEDIA UPDATES
The St. Bernard Sheriffâs Office will have deputies stationed along the parade route and around the perimeter today to ensure public safety as the Knights of Nemesisâ 2025 Carnival Parade rolls at 1 p.m. in Chalmette.
In addition, parade-goers will be able to stay informed with real-time updates on the Sheriffâs Office Facebook page and a live stream on YouTube.
Sheriff James Pohlmann said the departmentâs Mobile Emergency Operations Center will ride in front of the parade, providing regular location updates to keep attendees aware of its progress.
Utilizing social media and the Mobile Emergency Operations Center helps ease the workload during parades for the Sheriffâs Office Communications Division Radio Room, or 9-1-1 Center.
âBy posting updates on Facebook, we can reduce the number of calls coming into our 9-1-1 Center, keeping the lines open for emergencies,â the Sheriff said.
This yearâs Nemesis parade will feature 15 floats and follow the traditional route, beginning and ending at the Frederick J. Sigur Civic Center, 8245 W. Judge Perez Drive, with U-turns at the intersections near Dr. Meraux Boulevard and Campagna Drive.
