SBSO TO LEAD IRISH ITALIAN ISLENOS PARADE, PROVIDE SOCIAL MEDIA UPDATES
The St. Bernard Sheriff’s Office Mobile Emergency Operations Center will lead the 2022 St. Bernard Irish, Italian, Islenos Parade set to roll Sunday, April 3, at noon in Chalmette. The Marching Club will hit the streets at 11 a.m.
Sheriff’s deputies on board the mobile command center will post regular location updates on the Sheriff’s Office Facebook and Twitter pages throughout the duration of the parade, as well as photos from along the route. The parade also will be streamed live on the Sheriff’s Office Facebook page.
Sheriff’s deputies also will be on patrol along the route, which will begin and end at the Frederick J. Sigur Civic Center, 8245 W. Judge Perez Drive, with U-turns at the intersections near Dr. Meraux Boulevard and Ventura Drive.
This year’s parade will feature nearly 52 floats with 1,000-plus riders throwing more than 500,000 pounds of produce. There also will be several marching units in the parade.
