SBSO TO COMPETE IN S.C.O.R.E SERIES LEAGUE
The St. Bernard Sheriff’s Office has a team competing in the STB Leagues’ first S.C.O.R.E. Series, an annual event series aimed at recognizing St. Bernard Parish’s essential personnel through friendly athletic competitions, Sheriff James Pohlmann said.
Special Investigations Division Narcotics Agent Brad Nuccio will serve as captain for the St. Bernard Sheriff’s Office team. SBSO team members include: Lt. Justin Topey, Sgt. Brian Canepa, Sgt. Rosalyn Cantrell, Sgt. Vinny Scandariato, Dep. Trey Parks, Dep. Chris Battaglia, Dep. Collin Mills, Dep. Matthew Schmill, Dep. Donnie Plaisance, Dep. Donnie Saucier and Dep. Felix Morter.
The league will consist of three athletic competitions – kickball, basketball, cornhole – over the course of 2023. Other teams will be composed of players from St. Bernard Fire Department, St. Bernard Parish Government and St. Bernard Parish School Board.
The games are community events aimed at bringing the community together in a fun, family-friendly, positive atmosphere. The events are free and open to the public.
The first kickball games will take place Sunday, April 30 at Borgnemouth Park at 2500 Archbishop Hannah Boulevard in Meraux.
The Sheriff’s Office will face the Fire Department at 2 p.m., followed by the School Board vs. Parish Government. Winners from those two games will face off for the championship at 4 p.m.
100% of proceeds from these events will be donated to local charitable endeavors.
