SBSO SUGGESTS RESIDENTS CHECK SEX OFFENDER REGISTRY
The St. Bernard Sheriff’s Office encourages families to check the parish’s sex offender registry prior to Halloween, and regularly year-round to help ensure community safety, Sheriff James Pohlmann said.
“Parents should know which houses to avoid before their children go door-to-door trick-or-treating,” the Sheriff said. “Using our website, parents can search for offenders along their planned route or near any addresses where their children spend time. We want to help keep families safe and informed.”
Residents can search for registered offenders in their area, download the Offender Watch Family Safety App, and sign up for email notifications at https://sbso.org/ under the Sex Offenders tab.
The Sheriff also wants to inform the community detectives are actively pursuing the following four individuals who have failed to comply with state sex offender registration requirements:
➡️Brandi Brown, 39, 8523 Deerfield Drive, Chalmette
➡️Louie Guertin II, 48, 1819 Yscloskey Highway, Yscloskey
➡️Cornell Young Sr., 47, 3217 Tara Drive, Violet
➡️Tymerick Bienemy, 37, 3316 Stacie Drive, Violet
“We are working to locate these offenders to ensure compliance and keep our community safe,” Sheriff Pohlmann said.
For more information or to report information on the above listed offenders who are out of compliance, contact SBSO at (504) 271-2501 or Detective Lt. Richard Mendell at (504) 278-7660.
Stay informed, stay safe and Happy Halloween!
