SBSO @ SPECIAL OLYMPICS TODAY

St. Bernard Sheriff James Pohlmann and members of the Sheriff’s Office joined volunteers today (March 21) to support St. Bernard Parish special-needs students as they took center stage at the St. Bernard Parish Public School System’s 2025 Louisiana Special Olympics.

Held at Chalmette High School’s Bobby Nuss Stadium, this year’s event welcomed more than 100 students who competed in various track and field events.

Sheriff Pohlmann was joined by detectives from the Criminal Investigations Bureau and agents, School Resource Officers and D.A.R.E. program deputies with the Special Investigations Division who were on hand to cheer on participants as they participated in events such as the softball throw, standing long jump, 100-meter run, and wheelchair race.

Congratulations to all of the athletes participating today!
