SBSO/SBFD/SBPG/SBPSB TO COMPETE IN BASKETBALL TOURNAMENT TODAY
Local Sheriff’s Office deputies, firefighters, government workers and educators will show off their skills on the basketball court and vie for bragging rights today (Aug. 19) at the STB Leagues’ S.C.O.R.E. Series’ basketball tournament at Val Riess Sports Complex, 1101 Magistrate St. in Chalmette.
Teams will include players from the St. Bernard Sheriff’s Office, St. Bernard Fire Department, St. Bernard Parish Government and St. Bernard Parish School Board.
The Sheriff’s Office will face the Fire Department at 2 p.m., followed by the School Board against Parish Government at 3 p.m.
Winners from those two games will face off for the championship at 4 p.m.
These games are community events aimed at bringing the community together in a fun, family-friendly, positive atmosphere.
The events are free and open to the public. There will be a free bounce house for the kids, and concessions will be sold.
All proceeds from these events will be donated to local charitable endeavors.
