SBSO ‘REFUSE TO BE A VICTIM’ CLASS NEXT WEEK

Don’t miss your chance to learn practical ways to protect yourself and your family.

Registration is still open for the St. Bernard Sheriff’s Office “Refuse To Be A Victim” class, but with the class scheduled for next week, time to sign up is running out, Sheriff James Pohlmann said.

The F-R-E-E class will be held Tuesday, April 14 at 6 p.m. on the second floor of the Sheriff’s Training Center, 2118 Jackson Blvd. in Chalmette. It will be presented by Lt. Eric Eilers, director of community relations, and Chaplain Dep. Aaron Johnson.

👉👉To register, call Lt. Eilers at (504) 278-7628.

This three-hour class provides practical, real-world strategies to help participants reduce their risk of becoming a victim at home, at work, or in the community.
Attendees will learn effective crime prevention techniques, safety planning strategies, and mindset tools to make informed decisions and take a proactive approach to personal safety.

While St. Bernard Parish remains one of the safest communities in the greater New Orleans area, Sheriff Pohlmann said preparation and awareness are still essential.

“Prevention starts with awareness,” Sheriff Pohlmann said. “While our deputies work every day to keep St. Bernard Parish safe, we also want our residents to be prepared to better protect themselves and their families.”

“Refuse To Be A Victim” is a nationally recognized program founded in 1993 that focuses on awareness, prevention and preparedness.
