SBSO PARTICIPATES IN LEADERSHIP ST. BERNARD
St. Bernard Sheriff’s Office Col. Chad Clark, commander of the Criminal Investigations Bureau, was a guest speaker at a recent Leadership St. Bernard class held at the Los Isleños Museum Complex, Sheriff James Pohlmann said. The session focused on St. Bernard Parish’s rich history and resilience.
Col. Clark was joined by former St. Bernard Parish officials, including Jerry Graves, Ph.D., former Chief Administrative Officer; Joseph DiFatta, former Council Chairman; and Judy Hoffmeister, former Council Member. Together, they discussed the parish’s recovery in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, the critical role of law enforcement in rebuilding efforts, and the community’s continued growth over the past two decades.
Each speaker shared firsthand experiences from the storm and its aftermath, offering insight into how the parish has evolved while preserving its unique culture and history.
The session also featured presentations from St. Bernard Parish Historian William Hyland; documentary producers Woody Keim and Jim Dotson, who spoke on Fazendeville; and Nunez History Professor and Author Curtis Manning, who discussed the Battle of New Orleans.
