SBSO PARTICIPATES IN FAMILY VIOLENCE PROGRAM’S GIVE A HOOT TRIVIA NIGHT
The St. Bernard Sheriff’s Office participated in the Family Violence Program Of St. Bernard’s 9th Annual Give A Hoot Trivia Night fundraiser in support of the organization’s mission to assist survivors of domestic violence, Sheriff James Pohlmann said.
SBSO’s team consisted of several members of the Corrections Division, including from left: Sgt. Louis Mowers, Sgt. Andrew Mowers, Sgt. Darlene Ricks, Maj. Dennis Morgan, who oversees the Juvenile Detention Center at the St. Bernard Parish Correctional Facility and serves as president of the Family Violence Program’s Board of Directors; Dep. Noah Hutchinson and Lt. Warren Chambon.
Col. Daniel Bostic Jr., commander of the Special Investigations Division, served as one of the event’s judges.
The Family Violence Program of St. Bernard provides emergency shelter, advocacy, resources and support services to survivors of domestic violence, helping them achieve safety, independence and lives free from abuse.
In addition to meeting immediate needs such as shelter, food, clothing and medical assistance, the program works to empower survivors through education, counseling and community outreach while advocating for policies that protect victims and promote healthier, safer communities.
