SBSO PARTICIPATES IN CHURCH BACK-TO-SCHOOL EVENT
St. Bernard Parish Sheriff’s Office Col. Daniel Bostic Jr., commander of the Special Investigations Division, joined D.A.R.E. deputies Capt. Lisa Jackson and Sgt. Brandon Lewis in participating in Greater South Shore Worship Ministries’ Annual Back-to-School Outreach and School Supply Giveaway in Arabi, Sheriff James Pohlmann said.
The event, held July 18 on the church campus at 7408 W. Judge Perez Drive, brought together community organizations to provide local families with school supplies, resources and information before the start of the new school year.
SBSO deputies staffed a resource table, where they shared information on drug prevention, personal safety and the Sheriff’s Office’s D.A.R.E. program while visiting with children and their families. They also brought Daren the Lion, the Sheriff’s Office’s D.A.R.E. remote-controlled police car and the national mascot of the D.A.R.E. anti-drug program.
Greater South Shore Worship Ministries hosts the annual outreach to help ensure students have the supplies they need for a successful school year while connecting families with organizations that provide valuable community resources and services.
