SBSO NEEDS HELP IDENTIFYING MAN WANTED FOR ARMED ROBBERY

The St. Bernard Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help in identifying an adult male who is wanted for robbing a Chalmette business at gunpoint Thursday evening, St. Bernard Sheriff James Pohlmann said.

On Thursday, shortly before 6:30 p.m., Sheriff Pohlmann said, deputies with the Field Operations Bureau Patrol Division responded to a call for service in reference to an armed robbery at a business in the 8100 block of West Judge Perez Drive in Chalmette.

During the course of the investigation, detectives with the Criminal Investigations Bureau obtained video surveillance of the incident which showed the male suspect enter the business, brandish a weapon and demand merchandise and cash from employees.

The suspect is a black male who appears to be at least 5’9” tall and about 150 lbs. He was seen carrying a navy blue or black backpack and he was wearing a red hoodie, blue jeans, brown work boots, black surgical type gloves and a blue face mask.
