SBSO NEEDS HELP IDENTIFYING ARMED ROBBERY SUSPECT

St. Bernard Sheriff’s Office detectives are investigating an armed robbery that occurred recently in Chalmette and they’re asking for the public’s help in identifying the suspect involved in the incident, St. Bernard Sheriff James Pohlmann said.

On Thursday, Aug. 4, shortly before 6:30 p.m., Sheriff Pohlmann said, deputies with the Field Operations Bureau Patrol Division responded to a call for service in reference to an armed robbery at a business in the 8100 block of West Judge Perez Drive in Chalmette.

During the course of the investigation, detectives with the Criminal Investigations Bureau obtained video surveillance of the incident which showed the suspect enter the business, brandish a weapon and demand merchandise and cash from employees. The suspect was then seen leaving the scene in a blue Mazda CX sport utility vehicle.

The suspect is a black male who appears to be at least 5’9” tall and about 150 lbs. He was seen carrying a navy blue or black backpack and he was wearing a red hoodie, blue jeans, brown work boots, black surgical type gloves and a blue surgical face mask.
