The St. Bernard Sheriff’s Office has issued an arrest warrant for a Slidell man wanted in connection with an auto theft that occurred April 23 in Meraux, Sheriff James Pohlmann said.

Malike Batiste, 22, of the 1000 block of Sun Valley Lane in Slidell, is wanted for theft of a motor vehicle.

On Sunday, April 23, shortly before 11 a.m., Sheriff Pohlmann said, deputies responded to a call for service in reference to a stolen vehicle in the 2200 block of Emilie Oaks Drive in Meraux.

When deputies arrived on the scene they met with the victim who said their 2021 white Ford F-150 pickup truck had been stolen from their driveway in the early morning hours. Two off road motorcycles which were located in the bed of the truck also were reported missing.
