SBSO ISSUES ARREST WARRANT FOR SECOND SUSPECT IN ARABI ATTEMPTED ARMED ROBBERY

The St. Bernard Parish Sheriff’s Office has identified the second suspect in the Aug. 10, 2026 attempted armed robbery in Arabi and are actively seeking his whereabouts, Sheriff James Pohlmann said.

Detectives with the Criminal Investigations Bureau have issued an arrest warrant for Dallas Gardener, 18, of the 1600 block of Lamanche Street in New Orleans, for attempted armed robbery.

Vito Odom, 20, of the 1300 block of Charbonnet Street in New Orleans, also was arrested in the case on Tuesday, Sept. 29, with assistance from the New Orleans Police Department.

☎️Anyone with information about Gardener’s whereabouts is asked to call the Sheriff’s Office at (504) 271-2501 or the CIB tip hotline at (504) 271-TIPS (8477). Callers can remain anonymous and may be eligible for a cash award through Crimestoppers of Greater New Orleans.

Shortly after midnight on Aug. 10, SBSO deputies responded to a business in the 6700 block of St. Claude Avenue after receiving a report of an injured man seeking help.

Investigators learned the man had been walking in the 900 block of Mehle Street when two masked individuals approached him and demanded his cellphone and wallet.

When the victim refused, a struggle ensued, and he sustained injuries. The suspects fled on foot without taking any of his belongings.

The victim made his way to a nearby business, where an employee contacted the Sheriff’s Office. He was transported to a local hospital for treatment.
