SBSO ISSUES ARREST WARRANT FOR NEW ORLEANS MAN WANTED FOR ARMED ROBBERY

The St. Bernard Sheriff’s Office has issued an arrest warrant for a New Orleans man wanted for robbing an Arabi business at gunpoint, Sheriff James Pohlmann said.

Therrin Dew, 21, of the 1600 block of Andry Street in New Orleans, is wanted for armed robbery.

On Saturday, Sept. 24, shortly before 4 a.m., Sheriff Pohlmann said, deputies with the Field Operations Bureau Patrol Division responded to a call for service in reference to an armed robbery at a business in the 7600 block of West Judge Perez Drive in Arabi.

When deputies arrived at the scene they were met by an employee of the business who said a male suspect wearing dark clothing, gray gloves and a Halloween-type mask entered the business, brandished a firearm and demanded cash from the register. After ordering the victim to the ground, the suspect fled the scene on foot, southbound on Rowley Boulevard.

During the course of the investigation, detectives with the Criminal Investigations Bureau were able to identify Dew as the suspect with the assistance of the Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office after Dew was involved in an unrelated incident in Jefferson Parish.

Sheriff Pohlmann said no one was injured in the incident and the investigation was ongoing.

Anyone knowing the whereabouts of Dew, or any other information regarding this incident, is asked to call the St. Bernard Sheriff’s Office at (504) 271-2501, the Criminal Investigations Bureau’s tip hotline at (504) 271-TIPS or 8477, or Crimestoppers GNO at (504) 822-1111. Callers to the CIB tip hotline or Crimestoppers can remain anonymous and could be eligible for a cash award from Crimestoppers.
