SBSO ISSUES ARREST WARRANT FOR MAN WANTED IN FATAL SHOOTING IN CHALMETTE
The St. Bernard Sheriff’s Office has issued an arrest warrant for a New Orleans man wanted in connection with a fatal shooting that occurred Sunday evening in Chalmette, Sheriff James Pohlmann said.
Jermaine Cole Jr., 25, of the 4900 Maid Marion Drive in New Orleans, is wanted for second degree murder and obstruction of justice.
On Sunday, Jan. 12, 2025, at approximately 6:40 p.m., Sheriff Pohlmann said, deputies responded to a call for service in reference to a shooting in the 500 block of East Solidelle Street in Chalmette.
When deputies arrived on the scene they found an adult male victim suffering from gunshot wounds. The victim was transported to an area hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
During the course of the investigation, detectives with the Criminal Investigations Bureau were able to identify Cole as the suspect in the shooting.
Sheriff Pohlmann said no one else was injured, and this was an isolated incident between the suspect and the victim who were acquaintances.
The investigation is ongoing, he said.
