SBSO HOLDS ‘REFUSE TO BE A VICTIM’ LECTURE FOR CHAMBER

The St. Bernard Sheriff’s Office presented a “Refuse To Be A Victim” lecture Tuesday, July 25 in the Sheriff’s Office Training Center in Chalmette for members of the St. Bernard Chamber’s Women’s Professional Network.

The two-hour class was presented by Dep. Aaron Johnson, who also serves as chaplain for the Sheriff’s Office.

Dep. Johnson spoke about items that can decrease a homeowner’s chance of falling victim to thieves, and what types of locks and camera systems are best for home security purposes. He also spoke about tips and techniques to be alerted to dangerous situations and to avoid criminal confrontation.

“Refuse To Be A Victim,” a nationally recognized program founded in 1993, provides sound advice on how residents can limit their chances of becoming a victim of crime.
