SBSO HOLDS DRUG TAKE-BACK DAY
Residents properly disposed of 163 pounds of unwanted or expired prescriptions and over-the-counter medications Oct. 26 as the St. Bernard Sheriff’s Office participated in the annual National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day, Sheriff James Pohlmann said.
Lt. Chip Englande, an agent with the Sheriff’s Office Special Investigations Division Narcotics Unit, LEFT, accepted the unwanted medications over a four-hour period at Walgreens on the corner of Judge Perez Drive and Paris Road in Chalmette. The purpose of the event is to ensure unwanted medications can be disposed of properly.
With Lt. Englande is Walgreens Manager Kevin Krul.
For those who could not make the Oct. 26 event, the Sheriff’s Office has a drop box for unwanted medications located in the lobby of the Paris Road substation at 4700 Paris Road in Chalmette. The drop box is open year-round.
