SBSO DRUG TAKE BACK HAPPENING TODAY
St. Bernard Parish residents are encouraged to stop by Walgreens at 100 W. Judge Perez Drive in Chalmette today (April 26) between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. to safely dispose of any unused or expired medications during National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day, Sheriff James Pohlmann said.
Agents from the SBSO Narcotics Unit, Special Investigations Division will be on-site collecting both prescription and over-the-counter medications.
Sheriff Pohlmann said the annual event is a convenient and responsible way to clear out medicine cabinets and help prevent prescription drug misuse.
“Getting rid of old medications the right way helps protect our kids, our community, and the environment,” the Sheriff said. “It’s a simple step that can make a big difference.”
Can’t make it today? A secure medication drop box is available year-round at the Sheriff’s Office substation, 4700 Paris Road in Chalmette.
