SBSO DRUG TAKE-BACK HAPPENING NOW INSIDE WALGREENS
St. Bernard Parish residents are encouraged to stop by INSIDE Walgreens at 100 W. Judge Perez Drive in Chalmette TODAY (Saturday, April 25) between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. to safely dispose of any unused or expired medications during National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day.
Sheriff James Pohlmann said the annual event is a convenient and responsible way to clear out medicine cabinets and help prevent prescription drug misuse.
“Getting rid of old medications the right way helps protect our kids, our community, and the environment,” Sheriff Pohlmann said. “It’s a simple step that can make a big difference.”
Agents from the SBSO Special Investigations Division Narcotics Unit will be on-site collecting both prescription and over-the-counter medications.
Can’t make it today? A secure medication drop box is available year-round 24/7 at the Sheriff’s Office substation, 4700 Paris Road in Chalmette.
