SBSO DETECTIVE AND WIFE NAMED CHS VOLUNTEERS OF YEAR

The St. Bernard Sheriff’s Office is proud to share that Detective Kenneth Sierra and his wife, Rachel Kessling, have been named Chalmette High School’s 2025 Volunteers of the Year for their longtime dedication to the school’s band program.

For the past eight years, the couple has devoted their time and energy to supporting the Chalmette High Band, assisting with everything from rehearsals and performances to travel and logistics. Their unwavering support has made a meaningful impact on both students and staff.

They were jointly recognized during a banquet held at the CHS Ninth Grade Academy, where school officials honored individuals who go above and beyond in service to the school community.

Detective Sierra, a member of the SBSO Criminal Investigations Bureau, started his law enforcement career in 1995 and is celebrating 30 years of service this year.

With Detective Sierra, third from left, and his wife, Rachel Kessling, are Sheriff James Pohlmann, left, and Col. Chad Clark, commander of the Criminal Investigations Bureau.
