SBSO DEPUTY HELPS RESCUE DOG IN FRIGID TEMPS
Dep. Eric Wickboldt, a member of the SBSO Field Operations Bureau Patrol Division’s 1st Platoon, helped reunite a dog with its owner this morning after the pooch wandered off from his home in today’s frigid temperatures.
“I was driving around frantic this morning looking for my dog and the deputy and I crossed paths at the stop sign on Jean Lafitte. I told him I was searching for my lost black lab and he said he would help me,” said Laura Falcone of Chalmette. “Well, about five minutes later we crossed paths again and he stopped me and asked if the dog had a collar and I said no, a choker chain, and he smiled and said “He’s in my back seat!”
Falcone, who lost her husband in February, said this holiday weekend has been emotional without him, and the thought of losing her beloved black laborer retriever Davidson was just too much to bear.
“I just hugged him (Dep. Wickboldt) and thanked him for his service,” she said. “Your deputy was my angel today.”
Thanks, Dep. Wickboldt, for protecting and serving today!
