SBSO DEPUTIES RECEIVE NOPD COMMENDATIONS

Three St. Bernard Sheriff’s Office deputies were recently honored by the New Orleans Police Department for their role in the apprehension of two juvenile suspects involved in an attempted armed carjacking that occurred in Orleans Parish in December, 2021, Sheriff James Pohlmann said.

Maj. Daniel Bostic, Agent Jason Saltalmachia and Sgt. Jonathan Smith, all of the Special Investigations Division, received Letters of Commendation on Oct. 5 from NOPD Superintendent of Police Shaun Ferguson for their teamwork and dedication to duty.

Sheriff Pohlmann said he is proud his deputies could assist NOPD in taking these violent criminals off the streets.

“It is important for us to honor and reward deputies who see it as their mission to make our communities safe places for us all,” the Sheriff said. “Without their dedication and teamwork we would not be able to make these types of rapid apprehensions.”
