SBSO DEP. JULES MARTIN COMPLETES FIREARMS INSTRUCTOR QUALIFICATION COURSE
St. Bernard Sheriff’s Office Dep. Jules Martin successfully completed the Peace Officers Standards and Training (P.O.S.T.) firearms instructor qualification course and will now advance to Firearms Instructor School, Sheriff James Pohlmann said.
The qualification course, held at the Livingston Parish Sheriff’s Office Training Academy, included three courses of fire and a written test. The class is designed for peace officers who are above average shooters and have been selected by their departments to become firearms instructors. Emphasis is placed on developing the participant’s teaching capabilities through practical application.

Dep. Martin, a member of the Field Operations Bureau Patrol Division’s 3rd Platoon, began his career in law enforcement in 2018 as a member of the Corrections Division. He joined Patrol in 2021.
