SBSO COPS FOR CHRISTMAS CHILI COOK OFF FUNDRAISER
Mark your calendars: Hot chili, family fun and even a little ice are on the agenda for this year’s St. Bernard Sheriff’s Office COPS For Christmas (Caring Officers Provide Smiles) for Christmas Chili Cook-Off fundraiser.
🗓️Set for Saturday, Oct. 24 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Aycock Barn, 409 Aycock St. in Old Arabi, this year’s event will feature teams competing for the title of best chili, along with music, refreshments, local vendors selling wares, raffles and alcohol available for purchase.
🎟️Admission wristbands can be purchased in advance or at the event and are $20 per person for ages 13 and older, with children 12 and under admitted free.
Admission includes all-you-can-eat chili, hot dogs, water, soft drinks and face painting. 🌭🥤🎨
And this year, there’s a brand-new reason to join in on the fun.
⛸️ Since snow and ice are a rare sight in St. Bernard Parish, attendees will have the chance to lace up some skates and glide across an ice skating rink for the first time ever.
An all-day skating pass is available for an additional $10 per person and includes unlimited trips around the rink throughout the event.
➡️Team spots are available for $150. Vendor spaces are $20 per booth, plus the cost of admission for each person working the booth.

Each year, C.O.P.S. for Christmas helps provide several St. Bernard Parish families with items such as toys, food, clothing, household necessities and toiletries. Bicycles also are typically donated by a local business.
Funding for the annual program is made possible through fundraisers like the Chili Cook-Off, items collected from local businesses and donations from deputies.
