SBSO CONCLUDES NO-SHAVE NOVEMBER FUNDRAISER
The St. Bernard Sheriff’s Office wrapped up the No-Shave November fundraiser today, Dec. 1, marking the end of a month-long effort to support charitable causes within our agency. Thanks to the generosity of our deputies and staff, a total of $5,210 was raised, Sheriff James Pohlmann said.
During the month of November, deputies who made a donation were permitted by Sheriff Pohlmann to grow neatly-groomed beards – a temporary exception to the department’s standard uniform policy. More importantly, the initiative gave our team an opportunity to unite behind a purpose bigger than the beard itself.
The Sheriff said he’s proud of the commitment shown by his deputies, and their ability to keep their beards trimmed neatly and presentable.
“The money raised will make a real impact for several individuals who are facing health challenges and are in need of assistance,” Sheriff Pohlmann said. “I’m grateful to everyone who participated in this worthy cause.”
We extend our heartfelt thanks to the community for their continued encouragement as we work to support not only St. Bernard Parish, but also the members of our agency who serve and protect it every day.
