SBSO COLLECTS 152 POUNDS OF DRUGS AT DRUG TAKE-BACK DAY
The St. Bernard Parish Sheriff’s Office collected 152 pounds of unused or expired medications during the National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day held on Saturday, April 26, at Walgreens in Chalmette, Sheriff James Pohlmann said.
Col. Daniel Bostic, commander of the Special Investigations Division, and Agent Lt. Clifford “Chip” Englande of the SID Narcotics Unit were both on hand to assist residents in safely disposing of unwanted prescription and over-the-counter medications, helping to keep them out of the wrong hands.
For those who missed the event, the Sheriff’s Office offers a year-round drop box at its substation, located at 4700 Paris Road in Chalmette. Residents are encouraged to use this secure option anytime to dispose of medications safely and responsibly.
