SBSO COL. DANIEL BOSTIC JR. SPEAKS AT DOMESTIC VIOLENCE LUNCHEON
In recognition of October being Domestic Violence Awareness Month, St. Bernard Parish Sheriff’s Office Col. Daniel Bostic Jr. joined community members to speak Thursday, Oct. 16, at the Family Violence Program Of St. Bernard’s annual Domestic Violence Reflections Luncheon held at Docville Farm in Violet.
Col. Bostic, commander of the Special Investigations Division, and fellow guest speaker Barry Lemoine shared personal stories of how domestic violence has impacted their lives, offering powerful reflections that highlighted the importance of awareness, compassion, and community support for survivors and their families.
Sheriff James Pohlmann said the Sheriff’s Office is proud to partner with the Family Violence Program to ensure victims have access to compassionate, effective support.
“Domestic violence affects individuals and families from every walk of life,” Sheriff Pohlmann said. “It’s important that those experiencing abuse know they are not alone, that help is available, and we stand ready to protect and support them.”
Each October, communities across the nation observe Domestic Violence Awareness Month to honor survivors, remember victims and strengthen efforts to break the cycle of abuse.
The Family Violence Program of St. Bernard and the Thelma Deano Advocacy Center provide a wide range of no-cost services to survivors of domestic abuse.
